Downrigger Weight Snubber & Shock Absorber
This flexible rubber snubber sits between the release mechanism and lead weight in my downrigger setup. It helps absorb sudden movement and shock while lowering, trolling and retrieving the weight, reducing strain on the connections and downrigger cable.
The long blue rubber section features reinforced attachment points and stainless-steel connecting hardware. It also provides a visible and easy-to-grip section when handling the weight beside the boat.

Chamberlain Original 107 Downrigger Release
The Chamberlain Original 107 provides separate adjustments for rod tension and fishing-line release tension. This allows the rod to remain properly loaded while the release can still be adjusted sensitively for different lures, trolling conditions and target species.
Its magnetic horizontal adjustment can be set from 0 to 4.5 pounds, helping minimize false releases while still detecting lighter strikes. In my downrigger setup, the release is positioned between the yellow stopper and long blue rubber snubber leading down to the weight.
